Visit to Myton Block Construction Site

Preparations are well underway to welcome our first ever Year 7 cohort to Oakley School in September 2023.

This week Ranjit Samra (CEO, Stowe Valley MAT), Sarah Kaye (Headteacher, Oakley School) and Andy Perry (Headteacher, Myton School) visited the site of the new block being built at Myton School and are really pleased with the progress made so far. The steel structure is complete and we will soon start to see the exterior taking shape.

This purpose-built block will provide excellent facilities and an engaging learning environment for our pupils.

The state-of-the-art block will feature:

  • Well proportioned classrooms with wide corridors to reduce congestion
  • Versatile and adaptable two-storey spaces to suit changing requirements and create additional classrooms
  • A large, open plan social space/cafe area to promote interaction, close to administrative functions, located in the centre of the building
  • All areas easily observed for safeguarding
  • Study areas
  • External dining area off the internal cafe space

The building is scheduled to complete in the summer ahead of Oakley School’s first Year 7 Cohort!
